As a child I remember coming over the bridges into Paradise Point on our holidays, and feeling a sense of relaxation with just seeing the water. This is when my love and connection with water, and Paradise Point, began. Growing up in Brisbane, I was raised in the gumtree-lined outskirts of the city, where it was tranquil and I was able to get close to nature.

I studied Remedial Massage Therapy 20 years ago when I chose to get out from behind a desk and work closer helping people. My career began in beauty salons, day spas and gyms, and I was able to see all sides of Remedial Therapy for 5 years before deciding to go out on my own. I have always believed the benefits of joining the “Remedial” and “luxury” sides of the Massage experience together. I have been to many Physiotherapists, gym Massage clinics and even beauty salons with curtained rooms, not providing much privacy between you and your therapist, with very basic surroundings.

My vision has always been to create somewhere very special to go for your Therapy, providing a beautifully relaxing atmosphere, for your privacy and comfort. These little things, I believe, are the big things – the more comfortable and relaxed you are, the better the results from your therapy.

I have called the Gold Coast home for over 15 years. Being a part of the local community of Paradise Point enables me to stay connected with all the clients, and appreciate the stresses and demands of local small business owners and their families. I love to be at forefront of the business, whether that be as the first point of call on the phone or as you walk in, and still as a Remedial and Laser Therapist.

DAN COLLINS

Remedial and Laser Therapist

Dan came to Total Essence having worked in the Health & Fitness industry for over 20 years. Initially as a Personal Trainer and then as a Health Club Manager, both here and in the UK. Dan has been practicing Remedial Massage for 7 years. A local since arriving with his family from the UK in 1998, Dan has worked extensively with professional sports teams within the NRL, AFL, Super Rugby & State Cricket, and most recently with the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) and Athletics Australia.

Dan is keen to talk with you about how your work, recreational and/or training habits can affect your physical wellbeing. He can create an individual treatment plan through which Remedial Massage, Low Level Laser Therapy, Dry Needling and lifestyle adjustments can be added to ensure your optimal performance can be maintained.

FIONA SAXTON

Remedial Therapist, Laser Therapist & Acupuncturist

Fiona began in 2007 as a relaxation Massage therapist in a boutique day spa in the beautiful Blue Mountains. After completing the diploma in Remedial Massage in 2009, her primary therapeutic goal has been to relax the body and mind by providing a combination of gentle Remedial techniques with soothing Swedish style massage.

Fiona has studied Remedial hot stone therapy, myofascial dry-needling, low-level laser therapy, manual lymphatic drainage (for seasonal detox and boosting the immune-system), myofascial cupping, and a Bachelor of Health Science degree in acupuncture with over 300 hours of clinical practice.

With years of hands-on experience, combined with compassion and intuition, Fiona can provide a comprehensive, fully customised treatment addressing your physical, mental, and emotional presentation, at each and every visit.

Acupuncture:

The ancient language of Chinese Medicine refers to the harmonious flow of Qi (energy) and the balance of other Vital Substances in the body in order to achieve or maintain health ¹. Western science has found that acupuncture affects the circulation of blood and the relay of information via the nervous system ² to bring about changes in the body, such as reduction of pain ³, and easier muscle movement.

Your acupuncture appointment will include a consultation/chat for a thorough understanding of your presenting complaint and the aspects of your health and lifestyle that may have contributed to it. The treatment will include acupuncture with hair-fine single-use needles supported by myofascial cupping, Remedial or relaxation Massage, acupressure, electronic moxa* or Reiki.

TEREZA BAGNALL

Remedial and Laser Therapist

Tereza is a Remedial Massage Therapist and prides herself on achieving outstanding results for her clients. Her Massage treatments may include Sports, Remedial and Relaxation techniques to aide in reducing muscular pain, injury recovery and prevention.

Tereza uses a wide range of modalities, including Laser Therapy, Thai and MET stretches, Trigger Point and Deep Tissue Massage Therapy to aid her clients. Tereza specialises in Remedial Sports Massage which is beneficial for both pre and post sports activity.

ANNIE

Remedial Massage Therapist

Annie completed her Diploma of Remedial Therapy in 2010 and has a strong passion for helping her clients release pain and achieve better movement – even with the most basic of tasks like turning your head in the car. She specialises in firm Remedial treatments often using trigger point therapy to release tight & tired muscles to achieve a pain-free outcome.  

Annie has helped to treat a number of injuries & ailments including: Frozen shoulders, migraines, whiplash, and sciatica.  

Annie believes that everyone should demand a pain free body & that we shouldn’t tolerate pain and limited movement in everyday life.
