Answering some of our most frequently asked questions about what to expect and how we can best help you at Total Essence Massage.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes you may need to change your appointments, please be mindful that everyone’s time is important and that you let us know of any changes as soon as possible. There will be a cancellation / no-show fee if you are unable to make your appointment without giving at least 24 hours prior notice.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We try our best to accommodate clients that are in pain, so call reception with your concerns.
Can I use my Private Health?
Yes! We accept all Private Health Funds using HICAPS for you to claim your treatment on the spot.
How much do I get back from my Private Health?
It varies depending on your level of cover and who you are with. Generally, they cover between $20-50 per treatment. Some health funds do have a bonus package that can cover the whole treatment cost! We recommend calling your fund direct to find out exactly how much they will cover, this way you can also plan your treatments for the entire year!
What treatment would you recommend?
We recommend our clients to have a 60 minute Massage treatment. A 60 minute Massage is perfect for anyone who has 1-2 areas of concern.
What type of Massage do you specialise in?
Remedial/Relax Treatments are our speciality. We find using a combination of Remedial and Relax techniques achieve the greatest results for most of our clients. This doesn’t mean its light and fluffy, if you are more after FIRM FIRM FIRM, PAIN PAIN PAIN, then we also have the Therapist for you!
I’m pregnant, when can I have a Massage?
It is recommended that you undertake Massage Treatments after you enter your second trimester (12 weeks +).
I’m stressed, what treatment do I need?
We recommend a 90 minute Remedial Massage to help relax the mind and body.
Do you accept DVA / Care Plans?
We are unable to do DVA / Care Plans. Specialised Modalities like Physiotherapy, Osteopathy and Exercise Physiology are currently entitled to complete these claims.
Who else do you work with?
As highly qualified and reputable Remedial Massage Therapists, Total Essence also draw upon a strong network of healthcare providers to further aid in managing your ongoing healthcare needs. This allows us to further enhance each treatment and achieve stronger, longer lasting results.
When should I arrive?
To ensure you receive the best possible service, please arrive on time for your appointment. It will help for you to start to unwind and get the most out of your treatment. Late arrival will limit your treatment time, as all treatments are completed as scheduled.
For new clients, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your initial treatment to fill in our client form.
Why is your Initial Consultation pricing different?
All initial consultations will incur an additional fee of $10 to our regular appointment fees. Your Remedial Therapist will perform a short consultation also to best assess your needs as a new client to us.
What should I expect in my treatment?
Each Remedial Treatment will include:
- Therapist assessment
- Hands on treatment
- Stretching and at home care (if required)
- Therapist treatment recommendation
How often do you recommend I come?
Your Remedial Therapist will assess your individual needs and will provide you with personalised treatment guide to deal with your aches, pains & ailments.
Once your immediate ailment has been relieved, Total Essence recommends regular 4-6 weekly maintenance Remedial Treatments to maintain your health & wellbeing. Regular Remedial Massage treatments will help ease your stress, tension and minimise the likelihood of injuries occurring. Your Remedial Therapist will provide a maintenance program to suit you & the needs of your body.
When I give you my personal details, what will happen?
We pride ourselves on staying connected with our clients; from our newsletters, which allow you to stay up to date with the latest Total Essence news, along with our appointment and confirmations system, which reminds you of your appointment. Please keep all your details up to date so your Therapist is aware of all your needs and aliments. Under no circumstances, do we share your personal details with anyone.
